Haute Halloween.

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

When Halloween is Haute…it’s destined to be a Happy one. When 2Create Design Studio asked PaperDaydream to design menu tags for their haunted Halloween party, we took it upon ourselves to make it Haute.

Royal Skulls and Spiders in a wispy web, was the themed look we created.  A simple black, white, red and orange was used to invoke the traditional colors of the Halloween spirit.

We’d say this is eye-candy. Wouldn’t you?

Happy Halloween!

xoxo,

The Giving Tree.

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

In between PaperDaydream, Divanee, Sony, and life, I also do pro-bono media & print design work for Jolkona.org – an amazing non-profit built on the idea that small donations can have impacting impressions and make a difference. No amount is too small – they have projects that can cater toward any monetary denomination — where you can see direct results of where your money goes.

Jolkona.org just launched a widget app that lets you embed projects to donate on your website! I’d like to test out this incredible feature here =] Since it’s totally customizable, I opted for projects geared around writing, education and empowerment;  for all the aspiring stationery-business-starters and multi-taskers in the world.

Totally give-worthy.

{PS. You can even help plant tress via Jolkona.org for only $5.00!   It’s no Shel Silverstein, but it’s like the tree that keeps on giving…}

Hello, Pretty {Wild}

Monday, October 18th, 2010

The MAC Hello Kitty Wild collection could not have debuted at a better time. Plans were already underway for the bachelorette party for our BFF when MAC introduced this edgy pretty kitty line. A little bit more rockstar glam WILD than the sweet lil’ sugar MILD, bride-to-be Natasha was used to.  But when it comes to bachelorette parties – MILD is not OK…WILD all the way.  So, needless to say, this was purrr-fect. {Thank you Kitty!}

Natasha decided she wanted to spend her weekend with her bridesmaids at Disneyland. While we could have easily opted for Disney characters to cohesively theme the event – we would be remiss if we did not pay homage to her favorite character in the whole wide world. We opted to say “hi” to the kitty.  So as this campaign paved the way for inspiration for all collateral involved for this bachelorette suite – I added my own flavor of dirty jokes, wit and rockstar wild to the mix.

Read with caution. You have been forewarned.

The shirts specifically read NATASHA’S BRIDAL MOB because M.O.B. are her {now} hubby’s {then fiance} initials! Mirza.Omar.Baig. We thought it would be a good personalized touch to include it on the T-shirts instead of saying “Bridal Gang” “Bridal Girls”…etc.  I recreated the MAC Hello Kitty by drawing it out on my Wacom tablet that Natasha had given to me on one of my birthday’s. {I use it ALL the time! Thanks Tasha Fierce!}

It’s A Love Story.

Word on the street is Taylor Swift launched a line of greeting cards & stationery with American Greetings last year and it….

“yo, yo, yo…I’mma let you finish and all, but I just wanted to say that PaperDaydream has the best stationery of all time...”

The Social Daydream

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Looveee this motivational movie poster my friend made for PAPERDAYDREAM =] So clever and brilliant!

Ain’t gonna lie, after watching The Social Network, I felt more inspired, impressed and motivated all simultaneously.

It just reaffirmed how amazing and admirable one person single-handedly {well, two-handedly if you consider the fact that Zuckerberg uses two hands to code and type} changed the world in a matter of days with a simple idea and great application and technique.

I ain’t saying I can do all that – but this movie poster my friend made for me made me feel like anything is possible. So, I suppose it’s ok to have Social & Paper Daydreams.

Apart from the concept behind the creation and growing process of Facebook, the film was amazing. Clever, sharp, and climactic – with great dialogue and delivery!  Much like this poster! ♥♥
