McQueen at the Met?
Yes.
The sound of that just gives me chills, I had to confirm what I saw was real.
A little over a year after his very, very untimely and unfortunate death, McQueen’s magic can be seen beautifully curated at the Met until August 7th. It’s rare that an exhibit gives me chills. It’s rare that I get nervous upon entering a museum. And it’s even more rare that I almost fainted when I heard about this exhibit– the chills and the nerves just added to the majestic experience. McQueen was a master at delivering original avant-garde fashion during his triumphant 19 year career, and I love his intention, his execution and his sinister style behind everything. One of the reasons McQueen is my all time favorite designers, is because he never fails to arrange conflicting themes so amazingly well… every season. Not only does he blend unconventional elements together seemlessly, but he infuses so much of his dark side, adding so much depth and jaw-dropping worthy reactions. With 100 pieces from his work since 1992, including pieces from his Givenchy collection, each turn and each room left me in awe.
Oh..and the quotes cited were brilliant. I loved it. It tied the collection in so well, and gave you a peak inside the genius’ thought process.
I love this man so much, I had to write about him on Beauty and The Feast too.
McQueen doesn’t just inspire me, he empowers me.
Enjoy.
xoxo.

I die. Bibhu Mohapatra’s Fall Collection is so geometrically sexy. The blacks, the golds, the fabrics…the cuts. I want it all. {I’ll find a place to wear it to!} I can’t wait to interview Mr. Mohapatra, Fashion Designer Extraordinaire tomorrow via Divanee. Anyone have any questions they’d like to ask Bibhu!?
oh..and Mr. Mohapatra, if you are ever in need of a spare model…hi.
So this has nothing to do with Paper, but it has EVERYTHING to do with Daydreams. Christian Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook is full of whimsical, inspiring, and boldly original photographs by Khuong Nguyen. Nguyen takes Louboutin’s work of art, and transcends it to a new work of art on a whole other level. The dream-like feel to the photography is almost reminiscent of a post-modern-surrealist version of Salvadore Dali’s The Persistence of Memory. It’s nonsense, it’s beautiful, it’s nostaligiac, it’s magic…and nothing makes more sense to me than materializing daydreams.
These red-bottom sole’s just got more soul. I’m in love.
Special Thanks to Aamir Syed {ASY} @ Taacit for sharing this with me first.
We are SO excited to be featured in the Winter 2011 Anniversary Edition of South Asian Bride Magazine! We teamed up with the creative forces behind 2Create Design Studio to create this Winter Wonderland Luxe tablescape. We designed the full suite menus, favor tags, table numbers, escort cards, and invitations for this fabulous Wedding shoot at the beautiful Island Hotel in Newport Beach, CA. Saman at 2Create Design Studio did an AMAZING job with everything, and we love how beautifully everything turned out – but then again everything always does with them. Also, the photography is nothing short of breathtaking, no? Aman at Samson Productions did an AMAZING job with the photography. Love!

At least that’s what Rent The Runway wants you to believe. And I kinda love this brilliant idea. How many of us really repeat our bridesmaid dresses? Just a high-priced piece hanging in our closet, right? Renting high-fashion for a low-price is even better than ice cream. {And I love ice cream}
The new line of Wedding specific dresses and accessories {launched today!} is amazing. Thought I’d share the amazingness, as it provides a great alternate solution for looking good and saving money. Check it out for yourself.

The heel height isn’t the only thing that makes this “high” fashion. It’s edgy, sexy, fierce and sophisticated — all in one {pair.}
Ladies, if you’re drooling as much as I was when I first saw these shoes – then maybe we’re sole-mates?
Mr. Louboutin inspires me all the time…
So studly, no? Hmm, I foresee ivory studded greeting cards with a lot of soul, in the near future…
